Ewalt G. Weiland, 79, of Janesville, a longtime Plymouth Township farmer passed away Monday, June 6, 2011 at Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center. Ewalt was born in Monroe, WI on August 23, 1931, the son of Fritz and Hedwig (Schramke) Weiland. The family moved to the farm in Plymouth Township in 1945 where Ewalt farmed and has resided since that time. He married Alice Thorson on December 16, 1950. Ewalt was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hanover. He loved to dance, play cards and go to coffee with his Footville friends to settle all of the World’s problems. Above all, he enjoyed being with people and his family.

Surviving Ewalt are his wife, Alice Weiland, two children, Daniel (Judy) Weiland of Janesville, Christine (Richard) Reents of Portage, WI, four grandchildren, Lonnie (Jolene McKinnon) Weiland, Wayne (Amanda) Weiland, Tom Reents, Shawn (Kari) Reents, seven great-grandchildren, Logan and Lucas Weiland, Erik Reents, Sarah Phalin, Lizzie, Emily and Alaric Reents, one sister, Elsie (Lyle) Neerland of Deerfield , WI, one sister-in-law, Esther Wasson of Janesville, several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Edna Johnson.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 9, 2011 at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home, 1010 N. Wright Rd., Janesville. Rev. George Raap will officiate. Burial will be in Plymouth Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Thursday at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home. www.henkeclarson.com.
